Waxing

Clients are advised to avoid the following for 24 hours prior to and following hair removal:-
Sunbeds
Saunas
Steam rooms
Sunbathing
Any other heat treatments
Swimming
Exercising

This allows the pores time to close over to avoid infection. Reddening of the skin is usual, but if it persists for more than 24 hours contact your GP or pharmacist for advice.

Further things to avoid for 24 hours following hair removal: -
Hot baths and/or showers (tepid water only)
Perfumed products on the waxed area
Tight fitting clothes in the affected area
Touching the area affected
In the case of facial waxing, no make up (eye and lip make up are fine)
No antiseptic to the area, please use after wax

The use of an exfoliator and plenty of moisturiser will help prevent in-grown hairs In the event of a suspected allergic reaction, contact your GP or pharmacist

Eye treatments

Before treatment: -
Patch test 24 hours prior to treatment
No make up to be worn

Avoid 24 hours after treatment:-
Saunas
Swimming
Rubbing/touching eyes
Make up

The eye treatments involve lying on your back with your eyes closed. This can be anything from 15 minutes up to one hour+. If you are claustrophobic, have asthma, or have had any eye infection or surgery please let me know as this may mean you need a letter from your GP. Very watery eyes may also affect your tinting or perming of eyelashes.
In the event of a suspected allergic reaction, contact your GP or pharmacist

Manicure

Nail Varnish takes 24 hours to fully dry so be careful to avoid scratching or chipping it for the first day or so. Applying cuticle oil morning and evening will help to prevent over-grown cuticles. Dry hands will benefit from almond oil or olive oil massaged into them at night. Soft cotton gloves can be worn to prevent staining of bed sheets.

Treat your nails like Jewels not Tools! Do not use nails to open ring pulls, pick labels off, opening drawers etc...Adapt - use knuckles to flick switches, knives to open cans and pencils to push numbers on telephones or calculators.

Wear protective gloves - rubber gloves for washing up, gardening gloves for gardening, leather gloves for the cold...

Hand cream should be applied after washing your hands. Remove household stains with lemon juice and a cotton wool bud to prevent it becoming ingrained. Gardeners can prevent staining by scraping their nails across a bar of soap to fill the space between fingers and nails and then wash hands as normal afterwards.

Have regular manicures i.e. every 4-6weeks.

Pedicure

Nail Varnish takes 24 hours to fully dry so be careful to avoid scratching or chipping it for the first day or so. Use foot cream daily.

Apply heel cream at night and wear cotton socks. Avoid tight fitting shoes to prevent in-grown toenails.

Applying cuticle oil morning and evening will help to prevent over-grown cuticles.

Have regular pedicures i.e. every 4-6 weeks.
